Default White smoke, oil leak, mayo

Had mayo round my oil cap for since i can remember tbh and i have always put it down to the very short journeys i do and only occasionally actually using my car. It does get rather thick tbh.
Its never really worried me but MOT time is soon approaching and ive also recently noticed a fairly bad oil leak from what ive told is probably the rocker gasket and to make matters worse ive also noticed i seem to get a little white smoke coming from the exhaust even after driving for a while.

Is the smoke and mayo anything to worry about? And is it normal for the gsi to have white smoke? I put it down to the cold weather but im not so sure? Will she be alright come mot time with that smoke? worried about emmisions

I have no power loss atall btw

Coming from owning a Rover and then a Pug306, it all sounds too familiar Im afraid. My 306 did the same. It was fine for ages, in fact it didnt even have mayo under the rad cap. Still had the white smoke though and then things just went worse and worse. I hope its not HG too but it sounds very much like it Im afraid.

Sure the mayo in the cap is normal on the 3.2 if you have not removed the extension part of the oil filler tube. Read on here a couple of times its because its in the cooler air and causes the cooling oil vapours to turn to Mayo. Hopefully other 3.2 owners can confirm this for you. For piece of mind find a garage to do a sniff test on the coolant tank.

I've heard that too and has never really worried me too much as like i said, i only ever really travel short distances at a time (normally 8mile to my fiancees house). But worried about the smoke as originally i though it may just be the cold start but recently had a 200mile run and noticed it was still slightly smoking. Although as i said, no loss of water, or power
