windscreen wiper problem

My front wipers are behaving very strangely! When I push the stalk up they come on and are just on constant, when I flick the stalk down they just stop in the middle of the windscreen. Also my front washers have stopped working, no sound whatsoever but the back on works fine!

Any ideas? tried swapping the relays around but that didn't seem to make any difference..........

Recently had the same problem. I bought a new front wiper motor and that sorted the problem. Apparently the earth point fails on the motor and this causes the problems you've had.

I purchased it off of ebay for about 75 pounds. You wont get it much cheaper than that and I wouldn't bother with a second hand one from the breakers as it will fail fairly quickly.
