Default Got a grinding noise from back brakes ,Help please

Drove the car the other night and under light braking there was a grinding noise , almost like low pads but they were fine last month quite a lot left.
Checked discs when i stopped and they wernt hot and both felt the same. Discs are scored but again not accessive, cars a 08 plate 22,000 miles

Just wondering if anyone knows out about this type of thing

    Cheers

Original discs and probably inside pads have probably worn
20K miles / 2 years is not bad

Have the pads and discs measured
Prepare to have them replaced, the kit is about £80 (£90 if larger discs) plus 1.25 hours labour

My fourth set of pads and second set of discs has now worn out
The noise is horrendous, the outside pads have about 2mm left on them, the inside are probably at nil, but this set of discs has already had 2 sets of pads, so taking them right down to the end of their life now
I've already got a new set of pads and discs ready for fitting at next service

If it is the pads..make sure you got either a brake rewind tool or long nose pliers. The rear calipers have to be wound back and not pushed in with waterpump pliers etc like the fronts
