    Default Halfrauds! Spying gits!

Got an email from Halfrauds this morning (I'm on their mailing list after I ordered an xmas present from them).

It was advertising Granville Instant Gasket... The exact product which I looked up on their site yesterday when I was trying to fix my gearbox cover plate! Coincidence?! No way!

I wondered why I'd kept getting emails from them advertising sat-navs. I'd been checking their site every day to see if the one I want was in stock!

I assume it's a tracking cookie or something. Anyone know how to sort this out? My browser is Firefox...

Open Firefox, press SHIFT-CTRL-DEL all at the same time, then tick all the boxes in the pop up window and then click on Clear Now.

I am not on their mailing list, but if I go to their website and view a product, and i then go onto another forum which uses google ads, suprise suprise the google ad recommends me the products i have just been looking at... Personally, it makes me less inclined to buy from them.

Ill be trying the Malwaresbytes software!

Awesome, Spybot wasn't picking up the cookies, but that Shift+Ctrl+Del thing works a treat! Never knew that existed but it's gonna be very useful! Cheers lads

Its not just halfords that use this software several others including argos, comet etc do it so I don't think its down to thier website just some program that trawels your cookies from and advertises for them.

If you had a Halfords Trade Card you wouldn't say that - they do some cracking bargains, like 49p for brake light bulbs that are supposed to cost £2.89. Just don't accept their offer of fitting them...
