    Default ...Is this Normal??

I was driving to work this morning, The temperature was around 75-80 when the car warmed up, it always sits at that.

I drove fro around 30mins, then going up the carriage way I overtook a craine and many other cars and the temperature was around 90ish or close too.

When I drove the car normally again, the temperature started to drop, I have never noticed when going faster in the car that the temperature has reached that high before?

Also, going at a higher speed the car appeared to splutter? Well it appeared it did... I am not 100% on that one, I will have to try it again later.

Anyone got any tips? or is this the norm.

    Many thanks

    Adam

How come I have never seen the temperature gauge go that high before? - I rekon If i kept booting it like along a motor way stretch the meter would go even higher? - or would it.

So what may have caused the 'juddering' in the engine, like I say im not 100% it did this, i need to confirm it, but it may have just been a 'one off'

Probably nothing to worry about. Mine has a little hickup every now and then when you boot it and it hesitates for a second. Only really notice it on the motorway in 5th though. Every week or two get it up to temperature then give it a good boot full into high revs a few times to blow all the crap out.

It is often worth giving the radiator a bit of a clean. Crud and old leaves can accumulate in the fins. I use a soft brush. My Vectra does not increase its temperature, even if I give it a proper bootful.

Keep an eye on it. Try to figure out exactly when it raises its temperature. It's early days yet but there is a chance that your thermostat is on the blink and not opening fully. That restricts coolant flow. Or your radiator cap may not be sealing effectively, allowing the coolant to boil.
