    Default Arrrgh

    Got my car back from the garage yesterday,had new camshaft pulley fitted, car sounded fine, started it up this morning and the damn churpping and the annoying rattle was back, but only while she was cold. Any advice would be great.thanx. It's a 3.0v6 elite.

    not sure about your motor, but mine chirps only when its cold, so does my mates 1.8 and a mates 1.9cdti,, in my case its the auxillary belt, Belt SLIP/ dressing helps.

    ive got the 3.0 v6 mine does the same , im quite sure its the aux belt tensioner

    Thanx guys, is the tensioner expensive, and is it easy to change?

    its 102+vat from stealers

    think the saab one is the same and there 74 inc vat on ebay

    the y30dt engine is d308l on saab

    confused

    I'll have to check whitch one i need, mine's a 06 facelift, would the saab one fit it? Thanx.

    Try a spray of nylon and rubber lubricant on the rubber belts. My wife put me onto this stuff years ago as she was a teacher when the strap was allowed

    mine just came back from the garage on tuesday,it had the chirping plus a whine,had a new aux belt tensioner fitted which cured the whine but the chirping is still there,not as bad mind you and only for the first few seconds when started from cold but it`s still there so i guess i`ll just have to live with it.
