    Default key query

was going to buy a key from a veccy c with all the electronics and transponder in it from a 2007 car in a breakers yard,

i currently only have one key,

so the plan is..get a new blade and code the key to my car using op-com

is it possible to do this or do i require codes from the old key also??

all advice, help and info greatly appreciated

did a quick search but majority what i found was regarding lots of people wanting a flip key lol

as far as ive read on here, the transponders are single use and cannot be reprogrammed once they have been programmed once.

    Correct.

Yes, but if you unlock the door with the key and then open it the alarm will go off. Only way to silence it is with a working remote or putting the key in the ignition. If the ignition doesn't recognise the key transponder (which in this case it won't) then the alarm will continue to sound.

there was a thread recently about removing the transponder and soldering in a new onr the blank transopnders are only about a fiver.

its just how good you can solder without damaging the transponder with the heat.

i am going to try this im just waiting to find a cheap flip key to try it with
