    Default 2.2 DTi Turbo Hose...£142.80??!!

    Hi all,

Managed to finally get the bonnet open today, and was able to investigate the hissing noise that appeared while the Turbo was on boost. I found the split hose after working out where all the oil was coming from.

I took the hose, (pictures attached), to a local VX Dealership and they said it only comes complete with the bottom section, total cost inc VAT of £142.80!

I was hoping to just replace the hose, so any recommendations where to get one from, either like for like, or upgrade.

    Many thanks in advance,

    Chris

Danwells72: I literally just found that same listing! Thank you for your help!

dansri: If thats the one I'm thinking of, its the other hose. Looking at mine, I don't think I need to replace that one.....yet!

Mr Hyde: I never realised how expensive they are. To be fair, this is the first engine related fault I've had in nearly 5 years!

No probs mate, you can however get a pipe (i think from ash) for about £40 which is a flexi reinforced silicone hose. ill have a look as i get their magazines due to the amount i spend there lol

EDIT: This, its blue but if you go to their shop they have black and red

Everyone beat me to it! Yeah Vauxhall take the piis because they know thatthese two hoses fail on the 2.0 and 2.2dti's. They go from the inside out because the oil vapour from the turbo is slighlty corrosive to the cheap rubber Vauxhall used. As they go from the insideout you wont know its gonna go until you get the hissing!

I replaced the one you have circled from the guy on ebay for £60. 2 weeks later the other hose went so I decided to make my own instead of forking out another £60.

    My thread is here.

I havent seen those flexi hoses Danwells has posted up. They could be worth a try. A bit cheaper too! You'd need a bigger inner diameter than 38mm though. I think the size is 52mm but I would get a tape measure out and double check the size of BOTH ends before ordering.

im pretty sure it was 1.5" when i measured it when doing the intercooler upgrade. All my pipework is bespoke so i dont really need any of this but i have kept the left side pipe. Considering this one and one for the MAF to turbo pipe
