Default Top mount bearings... The plastic ones, how tight should they feel?

    Hi guys,

Annoy who's recently stripped front shockers, Ie when lowering etc... How loose did the actual bearing feel? I stripped mine earlier in quest to find this looseness I'm determind is there but everyone else says is just bad roads and 19s!

Anyway to me the bearing felt as though it had sideways movement? Should it be pretty tight? Could this cause muffled thud over bumps and general loose feel? I've done arbs and drop links but made no difference?

What are symptoms of these plastic top mount bearings going? I reassembled the shock with the metal top piece etc! Felt solid on ground! Spring has the rubber seat mod at end and no leak from shocks?

Cheers for any advise... Perhaps it might be bad roads and 19s, but I'm sure summit has changed?

    Mike

Hmmm strange one mike, I noticed mines very slightly moved, not a lot tho, there's no knocks or bangs from my suspension apart from hitting holes in the road, is ur car like that all the time or just bumps?

To behonest... I'm not that sure! It drives fine... Just typical me has focused in on a small noise! It's not even a bang, it's kind of the noise of summit vibrating, but it's hardly loud enough to mention... I'm just obsessive as it's defo
Summit that wasn't there 1000 mile ago?

Reminds me of the time the Mrs came in announcig " My cars making a knock knock knock noise"

First I asked her if it was a bad joke, then when she got angery I got her to take me for a drive, She turned left knock knock knock, she turned right .. knock knock knock.

She turned 2 more lefts and it only knocked the first left, she turned 2 rights and it only knocked the first time.

I got her to pull over and turn the engine off, In a panic she stopped the car, turned the engine off and jumped out of the car. I got out slowly and opened the boot and removed the 3 conkers that were rolling round the boot :-)

Sorry cant help with your problem though.
