    Default Car mis firing,sluggish

    Engine Management Light & Hesitation.
I have a problem with my veccy as I pull away in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears I notice a bit of hesitation. In fact, in first gear I put my foot flat to the metal, and it took the car about a 1 or 2 second delay before giving power - it actually felt like a turbo kicking in. Then in 2nd and 3rd I could feel what felt like mini misfires through the acceleration range.

I later took it out for a drive which happened to last 40 miles or so, and although it is a beautiful car to drive, I noticed even at higher speeds (upto 70) the slight misfires. Also at idling I noticed the engine sounded like it was accelerating and dipping ever so slightly, in fact it felt and almost sounded like a v12 engine would do, just not very loud.

Anyway, today I set off for work and same thing in 1st - 3rd gear happened. Anyway, if anyone has any ideas as to what this problem maybe then I would be grateful for your input (or a link to any threads on here which I may have missed in the searches).
I have changed the oil, filter checked the airflow meter and air filter all are fine, the Mil lamp is on constantly , hellllllllllllllllllpppppppppppppppp:juggle.

i think these engines seem to suffer with coil pack failures... you can buy them for about £60 delivered from autovaux, how many miles has it done and how many miles have spark plugs done?

I don't have the engine myself but have read of a few people over the last few weeks will coil issues

when it went for the MOT the guy found 7 codes but when he had it up on the ramp he found a plug unplugged,on plugging it back in and re checking all codes had cleared but later in the evening the engine management light came back on,when i 1st start her up she splutters and chugs for about 1 minute but give it 5 mins and she drives ok,just minor power loss through out all the gear changes but she goes like a bat out of hell 99% of the time

Im taking the guess the plug that was unplugged was the crank shaft sensor.

if the sensor is dead you can disconnect it and the ecu takes readings from the cam position sensors instead.

New crank shaft sensor is about £40 ish and is held in with one torx screw.
