    Default Sunglasses Holder

Ok, this is my first post and I was hoping to be asking for help on something a bit more difficult than a sunglasses holder I've pulled the blanking panel off ok, do I just push the sunglasses holder straight in ? When I've tried that there isn't a convincing click to say its in place, just seems to be sitting there, am I missing something ?

    Cheers

On a Vectra with the sunglass holder factory fitted there is a bracket in the roof for you to screw the holder in to place. On cars without it fitted it is a case of just pushing it home best you can. Mine fitted great and never moved but some members reported loose fitting.

By the way the ones on ebay are genuine Vauxhall parts, the list price at the dealers is about £4 if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the prompt replies ! It is a snug fit and hasn't shown any signs of moving yet. I'm off to go and put my rear reading light in now.....it looks straight forward but I'm not holding my breath ! Got both direct from LMF.

Looking forward to doing some more stuff to my Black 54' reg CDTI (only a 120) when I've done these two mods. Only had the car for 3 weeks so just getting used to the noise of the engine (or that my just be mine) after driving petrol cars for years. Not bad performance though, I had a Vec B sri 130 and I don't remember it being as fast as this one.

Anyway, off to wreck the headlining now.........

    Default Interior Light

Oh well, not my weekend. Pulled the headlining down and found a load of sticky tape covering two ribbon cables that vanish in to the back of the car, can't see any other cables with connectors so I guess I'm one of the unlucky ones with no rear light connection.

I knew I should have checked before ordering !

BTW - can anyone tell me what the ribbon cables might be ? They ran into what looked like a square shape before going off to the back of the car, when I was lifting the tape I thought I might have damaged something as the corner of the square was lifting and exposed some gold contact points. I stuck it all back down again and tested all the electrics in the back, which are ok.

Does anybody know if the Bracket is available to buy in the after market as mine just falls out at the moment?

If not i'll just have to cobble something together using radio mounting straps i guess.

Mine used to fall out all the time until I did the front maplight upgrade. It locks right into place now.
