    Default cdti 150 engine wine?

    any one had this prob?awful wine from my engine?
    had the timing belt,water pump and fan belft tensioner replaced so its not them?
    my mate said it mite be the aircon pump?

    if so wat has to be done to sort it except a new one of corse..

    If it whines when the air con is on then it needs servicing, though it may be too late (the refrigerant carries an oil mist to lubricate - low gas means low oil flow).
    If it whines with air con off, then just the pulley bearing can be changed.
    Possible to do it on the car without draining the aircon refrigerant.

    ok mate cheers..were would i get one of these bearings?i actuly left the car to vauxhall and they told me they couldint find the problem fs

    get your head under the bonnet while someone holds the revs down, it may help in determining where the whine is coming from... 1 possibility is alternator bearings.

    Remove the aux drive belt and then run the engine, if noise disappears its something that runs off the belt e.g. alt or air con compressor.
    If the noise is still there then its something else.

    with the belt off and engine off rotate each pulley including the tensioner, check for smooth/quiet operation.
