    Default 3 points and insurance

Hi all. Just wondered if anyone knows roughly how bad 3 points affects your insurance. Obviously it increases but is it a substantial amount?

    Cheers

It may not, most don't increase until you get 6 points. I'm with aviva and they didn't increase my premium.

I'm not sure but I think it depends what the 3 points is for... I was once told the 3 points for worn tyres is often seen as worse than 3 points for minor speeding offences etc, logic being that anybody can slip over the speed limit every now and again but going out either without checking the vehicle is safe, or going out knowing it is unsafe is worse.

A friend of mine got points for not stopping at a red light and it didnt end up affecting is insurance...

Well i may be getting worried for nothing but was in my gfs car yesterday and messing about with the radio. When i looked in the mirror the crossing behind me was red and the car behind me had stopped but it was a fair distance away. I totally didnt see the crossing but the car in front of me which i was close to didnt stop so im hoping i was well through. Really unlike me to not pay attention but we all have slip ups i guess. And yes i have tried to convince the gf to have the points buts shes having none of it lol
