hi all ive had my hid kit on for a while it never strobes or flickers but the one thing it does drives me insane!! when i turn the lights on most of the time one of them doesnt come on first time and i have to keep turning the light switch on and off until it kicks in and that happens to both of them??? any ideas what it could be??

Assuming its an after market kit have you tried swapping the ballasts around? There's not much to go wrong with them, bulb, ballast, canceller(if fitted) or the 2 spade connectors. If its the ballast you can pick one up pretty cheaply off ebay, even from UK sellers.

Its hard to diagnose cause it works sometimes, I have literally same issue as OP. I have tried with and without cancellors. But still under warranty so gonna try gettin a new one out to test, Mine flashes and just never fires up. Like there is not enough power

I had similar issues with my hids, lots of flickering b4 firing up and then stop working. I found the connections at one of the plugs poor so i cut the plug off and reconnected using heat shrink crimps, working fine ever since no flickering 6 months on. 50w 6000k hids from hids direct.

Have had the same problem with firing up intermittently, I have cut off all the connectors and put on bullet connectors, no issues since
