Default HIDS fitted - spanner light?

Just fitted HID's and they are working fine, however when connected on ignition the spanner light comes on with the (I think TC light - skiddy symbol). If I hold the brake pedal down for a few seconds it clears otherwise car is in limp mode. Disconnected the HIDS and no spanner light... any ideas?

Got the canbus ones so no warning lights for the bulbs - I panicked rather than doing a proper search on here though and turns out I shouldn't have tested them before reconnecting the airbox - just got very worried when car went into limp mode!

Light now goes out after a couple of seconds without brake pedal press so obviously just a stored 'fault' and hopefully will clear itself eventually.

    Sorry folks!

On the upside, god they are bright. Got the 6000k ones and they don't have much of a blue tint at all so waiting for dark to give them a proper go!

Which kit did you get? Also, is there a How 2 for this as I think it will be one of the first mods I do when I pick my Vectra up at weekend.

http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=125306 - don't know if the discount code will still be valid though but I got the canbus H7 kit. HIDS-DIRECT used to be the top boys but seems to be a few problems with their service and quality at the moment based on recent comments on here.

There are a couple of how-2's for them but they are easy to fit and I didn't need them. Only hard bit was twisting the bulb clips in as the HID bases are a bit thicker. Didn't need bumper off like some do though would make it easier, just took airbox and washer bottle neck out.

Well worth it, had it out tonight and the improvement is huge

Awesome, cheers for the link. I used to have an old 306 and a few people on the forums put HIDs in, but there was alsorts of problems with the lenses not being right, plus lack of adjustment etc. Are there any problems like that with these kits on the Vectra/Signum or are they just a straight swap pretty much?

May be a long shot but i disconnected my MAF sensor and removed the piping off the throttlebody when fitting mine you might want to retrace your steps and make sure you didnt unplug something by mistake.

I know on my old audi, when my MAF failed, it shared the same earth as the Traction control so that stopped working and put the light on the dash too. Seems like the most logical thing to me as there is no other reason why they would do that.

Cheers Knuckle - it was my own fault, MAF disconnected obviously with the airbox out and I ran the engine to test the lights before putting it all back in. Light still comes on but goes straight out now so hoping it will clear itself and drives fine. Loving the lights though. In response to question above, Veccy uses a proper projection lens for the H7 so there are no issues with beam pattern and spread - just a much better light concentration and distance.
