    Default soft suspension.

The ride on my 03 1.8 vectra is reasonably comfortable but I think it needs something doing to it. The car seems to rock from side to side too much especially going round corners. I have noticed that sometimes when braking the steering wheel pulls side to side slightly. I also get a scraping noise from front when going over speed bumps. Sounds like its grounding but i don't think it is.
I have tested all four corners by pressing them down as per haynes manual, but i don't really know what I'm looking for. They all seem about the same: they rebound very slightly higher then settle. Its barely noticeable tho.
The dealer I bought it off last september claimed ''a spring was going so I replaced it'' as part of the pre-purchase ''service'' he gave it, but I know now they should be replaced in pairs, so not sure about that.
From what I read on this forum, I think my first job will be front ARB bushes and drop links, then possibly rear shocks and ARB bushes. But I am very much a beginner and not sure whether to tackle myself or pay a mechanic to do it. I am inclined to try myself but I don't want to get stuck half way through!
I would also like my suspension checking over all but I don't want a mechanic telling me I need new suspension struts when all I need is some 5 quid rubber bushes!
    So can anyone advise:

Whats a reasonable price for doing fronr arb bushes and drop links?

And rear shocks and arb bushes?

Can anyone recommend a good place in my area to get these done, sefton or west lancs area?

If its too much I'll prob have a crack myself using the how2's so any other advice would be great. Thanks.

Cheers mate what sort of price am I looking at for lowering? A lot of people seem to have it done. I take it its not a DIY job I could do.

Dont Know If You Could Do It Yourself..Have A Look For The How 2 And Decide

I Got My Kit Off Fleabay For 160 Delivered...But Theres Loads On Here That Have Eibach Springs And Bilstein Shocks

Guessing You Would`nt Get Much Change Outta 400 Quid

The Kit I Got Does The Trick Likes For Now..Probably Will Go For The Eibachs And Bilsteins When My Funds Improve

Just Noticed You Got The 1.8...Same As Me So The Coilovers Kit Would Do You Fine

Just Depends On How Big Your Pockets Are lol

me neither! What i worry about is taking old ones off then not being able to get bridle done up round new ones and having to get someone to come out. 160 sounds ok i will look at how2. Ill get some quotes from local mechanics and see if its worth doing myself.
