    Default Rear centre seatbelt

About to set off this morning with a full car on a 550 mile round trip when the Rear centre seatbelt would not budge.

Was not too happy about having an unrestrained passenger but we had no option but to set off.

1st stop we looked everywhere in case the was some kind of lock or something keeping in place but nothing. Folded the chair forward which gave it some slack but still no budging - is there something i'm missing? Any ideas to sort if its broken?

I thought the roads in Cornwall were bad but those around Bicester and Oxford are horrendous. Went over a pot hole and thought the wheel had been ripped off the noise it made.

Car also gave violent juddering in cruise control a couple of times - anyone else had this?

I had the same problem about a year ago. With mine I found the seat not fully engaged/locked as bigmac says. I think there must be a safety feature that will not let the seatbelt be used with an insecure seat.

When it did it to me I had visions of me dismantling the seat to have as look so was relieved when I worked it out!!

Once you have the belt mechanism out if you pop off the cover on the side that had the cable connected to it you will see a ball bearing and small lever. This is the mechanism to stop the belt coming out if the seat back isn't fully home. Simply remove the ball bearing and lever, replace the cover and it now works. Just make sure that the seat back is fully home before you let any one use the centre seatbelt.
