Handbrake Recall for my 06 Vec

Come home tonight to find I have a letter from Vauxhall telling me of a recall for my Handbrake.

Never had an issue with mine but might as well take it in for the repair.

Anyone else got the same letter ?

I had one just before christmas mate all it is ,is a spring that they put in the hand break leaver its nowt mate ,,,,some vectras have had handbreaks slip off and have rolled off so and its somert to do with a fault spring in the hand break leaver so they change it to a bigger spring

they wer saying for years to Anne Robertson (watchdog ) all was ok then got my letter today

I don't think I should bother as its too much hassle to hand my car in then organise getting to work and back (96 mile round trip) and if they supply a courtersy car it will be that horrid gutttless Corsa Noddy car (thats tells me to change gear every 2 seconds) which they have given me twice in the past. Ekkk

Edit : Ah ******, now the more I think about it maybe I should get it done. What do you think all ? (I have not had a problem with it so far)

The job takes less than 30 minutes
Book the car in and advise them you will wait while it is completed, and can only wait 30 minutes

You can also have it carried out at the next service

They say in their letter that they advised customers originaly in 2007 of a potential problem so it may do but cant be sure sorry

Oh it also mentions Signums are affected too

No worries mate i would not bother they took my car at 9 oclcok and i dint get it back till 6 oclock takes the ****sssss!!! Best thing is i work for gilders so i new all about the job and what it was and it only takes 15mins to do the job vauxhall dealers are a joke some times well the one in sheffild is i would never go there i would rather travel 20 mies to leeds one they are alot better

Thats what worries me Nigel. My Dealers are pretty good and they have stepped up to the mark on several occasions but I have had to wait in the past 2-3 days for a 1 day job to be done. Its up for a service soon so I will ask them to do it then.

I got the letter too today, I created a post earlier about it and a couple of people also posted they'd got one.

Seems in the new year Vx checked their database for any outstanding recalls.

My letter was dated 7th January, so only took 3 weeks to arrive!!
