    Default Today's LOL

Had a last minute thought on doing the thermostat this weekend so went into Halfords to see if i could get one, was after half 5 so couldn't get the dealers.

Told the chap what I was after and he looked it up, after about 5 minutes, he says

'We dont list them so it must be a part you get from the dealers only, but it might be quite expensive.'

I replied 'Well, I think they are about £45 plus VAT from Vxl but will see if I can get one tomorrow'

His response - 'Aye, we sell them for about £30'

Me - 'Really, can I have one then?'

Him - 'We dont list them for the Vectra'

Me - 'So how do you know they are £30?!'

I just walked away at that point. Halfords - good when they have the 3 for 2 deals on cleaning products or massive sales on tools but crap at everything else!!

Yeah halfords suck when it comes to buying replacement parts.

I remember enquiring about a wheel cylinder for a Fiesta ate one point, the guy said "Yeah we can get them"

I say "oh good when for"

He says "erm.....should be about 2 weeks"

I thought the guy was going to actually personally make it in that time

Lol, yes, they can be total planks. If I have to use them, I usually go to the Shrewsbury one, they seem a bit better than Telford

Yeah I had to go to shrewsbury to pick up a pollen filter as telford had no stock. Got there but it took 3 chaps an hour to get it for me lol.
It was in a speedy lock up around the back in stores. As it was in the middle of the big freeze the lock had frozen solid. So they used a cutting torch to get the lock of and defrost the doors. All that for a £11 filter I must say great customer service.
