Default Vectra Engine Tune Up - Worth It?

I am wondering if it is worth me getting my 54 plate 150 SRi engine "tuned up" at a specialist?
The reason I am thinking getting it done is I think the engine is particulary noisy - i know diesel engines are noisy! but I wondered if I had a proper tune up done whether it would keep the car running smoothly and possible running quieter?
Has anyone ever had their's done?
Can anyone recommend anywhere in the Stockton/Middlesbrough area?
    Thoughts.....
    Michael

the ony way to tune up your engine fella is to change the oil and filter the diesel filter the air filter infact all service parts maybe fit new glow plugs and have the car remapped or fit a tuning box you cant adjust anything to make the engine quiter or smoother
VXR IS FOR LIFE NOT JUST FOR THRILLS !

Im not sure, as chris said, if it can be made quieter but a full remap done by somebody who knows what he/she is doing can definitely smooth out an engine. Had my 105bhp megane remapped to 140.... drove completely differently, a lot torquier but much smoother.

This "noise" have you any idea what noise it is?
Engine rattling, exhaust noise? or just the normal diesel noisey engine?

Reason i ask is many come from driving petrol to diesel and suddenly find this car to be loud and noisey when infact it's just the normal noise a diesel car makes overe the much quieter petrol car.

If this is high mileage you can change your oil to a little thicker rather than fully synthetic.

15-40 is fine if over 90k, But not 20-50.

This should take up any wear you have and run quieter.
