It would be just as easy to remove the front bumper mate. that way you'd get better access

The plastic clips things are about 22p each from the dealer and you can buy individually.

You can re-use them providing you can find the peg that pushes through the middle to spread the locking clips. Just push it out and then remove the clips.

    They look something like this

I managed to rip off a front mud flap by reversing over a stone on rough ground at work which I'd fitted with 5 self tapper screws which also pulled out the inner plastic wheel arch liner. Anyway I've since refitted mud flap & raised them up by about half an inch so they can't catch anything again.
Since I've refitted the drivers side flap I'm very occasionally getting a clunking noise.
It sounds as if the inner plastic linings maybe moving about - would this be a possibility?
I had to use 3 of the clips pictured above to refit wheel arch lining.
I did notice there was 1 hole inside the wheel arch (at the very top) where the hole wasnt lined up properly & I couldn't get a new clip in to secure it. Could this be causing the noise?

Ment to add. The front wheel arch lining is secured by 2 screws (Torx T20 heads on them) at the front of the wheel arch. These are easy to find & also about 4 or 5 of the plastic rivet clips in picture above.

There's 6 of these clips in the drivers side wheel arch.
