just a few tips for spotting fakes are:

    1) ebay will always use your ebay name (fakes tend to put "Dear Member")
    2) when you click on any link requiring log in info you should see "https://" at the start of the web address (not http://)
    3) check your ebay messages in "MyEbay". Ebay will always send a duplicate message to your ebay account.

    hope this helps.

Maybe that's why you keep getting them matey. They know you're e-mail address is active and used. If they don't get a reply after a while they start to assume that the address no longer exists.

My tip: If you're not sure what it is don't even open the mail (just delete it) and never reply to it.

Not a good idea m8!! All you do by doing that is verify that your e-mail address is current and live. They can then add you to a list of e-mail addresses that they sell on to other spammers. I betcha you started to receive a helluva lot more spam after you first replied to any of those?

Best option is to just delete them and never, never reply to them.

lol - so you did! Just seen your reply above mine!

YB - you will definitely get more spam if you reply to any of those e-mails, it may take a little while, but your e-mail address will propagate through more spammers lists as being active and verified.

Spammers will often randomly generate e-mail addresses based on a bit of info, or just by using common names on large ISP addresses - yahoo, BT etc. I get some spam coming into my business e-mail (I have my own domain name) and I know for a fact that it's been generated. It's sent to xxxx@mydomainname and the xxxx part is one that I've never ever used as a prefix - like mail, info, sales etc. The only reason I get it it is because any prefix used will still end up being delivered to my mailbox.
