    Question 2.0T Alternator replacement

Hi all , has anyone had the pleasure of changing the alternator on a Z20NET Vectra , I have one ordered for saturday as the old one is really struggling and could use any handy tips going as my Haynes manual does not take this engine into account! Does not look to be in really difficult place on the engine to remove but You never know.

Is there a How2 for this , if not any advice would be greatly appreciated

    Cheers

    Neil

I think you improve access by removing the driver's side front wheel and then taking off the front half of the wheel arch liner.

Vehicle : Vectra and a Signum

Trim : top of the line in both

    Engine : Z18XE,Z19DTH,Z20NET

    Year : 2006

as Jezzy says thay does make it easier to get to. I took mine wheel arch lining out the other day,, you need to new plastic rivets to reattach the rear part of it if you decide to take it completely out, the front part is just held on with two or three torx screws.

btw the Saab 9-3 haynes manual covers this engine, its worthing having one as its the same car underneath the body..i have one, i think Jezzy does as well..
My old Signum, the animal; she now rests in pieces in several other members cars.. https://www.vectra-c.com/forum/garag...vehicle&id=200

I do have one, but can only make use of the pictures, until I get around to learning to read.
