Reverse light switch

My reversing lights stopped working and i discovered the plug has come off the switch. Ive can hold the plug in my hand just cant locate the switch to plug it in and ive looked everywere i have even to battery and tray out to help see it but nothing. Any ideas or pictures of were it could be my car is a vectra c on 52 reg. Thanks

You should see it down on the gear box when looking between the engine and bett box. It sort of resembles a spark plug with a plastic connector on top, bolted to the top of the gb pointing slightly towards the radiator.

thanks for reply i have looked everywhere on gb and cant find it no were its mind boggling.

I think its accessed from the passenger side inner wheel arch area.

Take the wheel off and you should be able to see it.

What engine do you have and is it 5 or 6 speed?

its a 1.8 and 5 speed thanks

It that case maybe in the front of the casing near the selector linkage.

Ive still not found it. Will it be hiden? starting to think has it worked lose and fell off. It couldnt be far away as i can hold the plug it supose go to and that dont stretch far

Ask in your local area section or take it to a garage and ask them where it is.

Ive been told mine is on top of box next to linkage and it gets removed to put gearbox oil in and according to the garage its just got a sump plug in instead of the switch so i have to go and buy a switch and replace the sump plug with it. Thanks for the picture
