Default Driveshafts for 3ltr cdti manual

    Hi All,
Well the signum has developed what can only be described as a wobble/ thumping under acceleration. I suspect it is the O/S driveshaft. The inner CV boots have been changed a few times and i think that over time the CV has become worn and needs changing.
I have scoured the net trying to find some without any luck.
The OS one has the bearing carrier bolted to the rear of the block and is the long one.
    My Questions are:
    • Are these drive shafts common to any other vehicle in the range (VecC or maybe the 1.9 cdti)
    • Can the inner joint be replaced or the bearing with carrier
    • Does anyone know where i may get some second hand from

My MOT is due on the 17th Feb and i fear that it will fail being the way it is!!

Please give me a few pointers if you have any

    Reagrds

    Kev

    Hi i5aces,
Its not overly common m8, BUT i would strongly suggest that you get it replaced ASAP. A split boot is ok as a temp repair to keep the crap out BUT they dont last long. If it was me I would take the driveshaft out and put a decent stretchy boot on it or an original from Vauxhall. The last thing you want to end up doing is to have to replace the driveshaft as they are a rediculous price from Vauxhall.
Its not a difficult job if you have the tools. It can be done in hours but I would set aside a day to do it in the drive or your own garage. Then you dont have to rush the job.
    Regards

    Kev
