I can't find that warning light in the handbook. Can't recall ever seeing one either on any of the Vauxhalls I've owned in the past 26 years.

    You sure it's above?

    Can you post a picture?

Above, over. Its the normal fault indicator.

OP, you need to get the codes read really.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

I has the same issue with mine, it turned out to be the EGR which, from what I have read, don't like being cleaned on the V6 diesel, luckily mine was replaced under warranty.

I have the same symbol on my 2004 v6! How would I find out if it is definitelly the EGR? How much to replace? Or can it be blanked out?

I had this on my car which is also a 54 plate 3.0 V6 CDTi. It happened about 4 months after I had fitted a CRD2 Tuning Box running the "Harry" map although that may well have been purely coincidental.

First time it happened it went into limp mode. Stopping and switching off to let it sit for 20 mins and then starting up again did the trick. But it became totally random after that. Could run fine for days or even weeks and then it would do it again. Eventually took the Tuning Box off and booked it in to my local dealer to get looked at. Car was still ( just ) under manufacturers warranty. The first time it went in they replaced the turbo boost sensor. This appeared to cure the problem.

Went for another month with no issues and then it started doing the same thing only this time, more often. Sitting for 20 mins after switching off sometimes did not result in the car being able to be started. Last straw came when myself and the missus got stranded for hours in Dunfermline one afternoon. Car was returned to the dealer again and this time they said the fault was the main engine management ECU. I was lucky enough to be just in warranty and it got replaced ( cost was @£1k ).

Been fine ever since ( touches wood!! ).

Look back through ( do a search on my username ) some of my threads and you will see a lot of the things I did to try and sort this problem out in the short term, including the "disconnecting the battery for 30 mins" thing and the "turn the ignition key to its first position and back again 30 times" thing.

Im guessing the same symbol has different meanings then, as had a look back at some old posts then sent a message to someone else that said his came back with diagnostics as a cruise control wire fault.

Mine drives fine, no loss of power, no actual symptoms, just an annoying light on the dash. I'll try to upload a pic of it later, as my internet is too slow just now to do it!

Might chuck it in to somewhere to get checked out, although maybe not for a few weeks as I've just had it serviced and am a bit skint!

Is this just a 2004 v6 cdti fault then? Seems that everyone with this symbol has the same car!
