Default changing seat belt pre tensioners

fitted my leather interior into my signum the other day and was a bit miffed why the seat belts were so low on the seat , till i realised the pre tensioners have fired

got a new set to fit , do you need to do anything before fitting them like disconnecting the battery or can i just take the seat out and fit them???

It is recommended to disconect the battery but ive replaced them before without doing this maybe ive got away with it! if youve got any worries of them going off again when you connect them back they wont cus they will have to be tech2d after fitting them but again you maybe lucky and airbag light might go out without being tech2d

Mark, your signum had the unfastened seat belt warning on both front seats. this was dropped on later models, could this be what the extra cable was for?
