Default 1.9 CDTI 150 EGR Blanking Plate

Well as I needed a few things for the car I decided to purchase the oval blanking plate for my CDTI.

It measures over 1mm in thinkness and I got it from these guys:

This is all preparation for a remap.

Got them fitted last year m8. Tbh I've had enough of the hassle the stupid valve brings.

After long thought regarding the if's and but's and what if's I have decided to go for it. After the valve is disabled via a remap.

My car was remapped by EDS and has this blanking plate for a year.
The engine works fine and without problems.

I have just changed my inlet manifold due to swirl flap failure, started car ran fine. Took up the road again and now its loosing power again and juddering.

I cleaned the EGR valve a few weeks ago so am wondering if the blanking may cure this issue?? If I do blank do I have to get reprogrammed straight away will it cause issues if I don't??

In basic terms blanking the EGR valve will prevent all the crud entering the inlet and will allow the car to run better on clean air.
However the ECU will detect the lack of flow from the EGR and will illuminate the EML, this can 'mask' other potential faults.
Once programmed out the EML will stay off unless something else goes wrong

Needs to be done via remap so in the region of £250-£500, as dealers are unable to to this.

Is fiat the only place to get this reducing plate ? Iv been searching the internet and can't find one anywhere , was wanting to blank it off totally and remove the egr but looks like is have to custom make a plate plus I don't fancy paying silly money to have a light switched off to gona stick a reducing plate in both sides , hopefully that plus a good clean will sort it out. My car always loses power when iv been freewheeling in gear down a hill ie exit ramp then when I pull away from roundabout ect I crawl away slowly and annoy everyone around me lol
