HID's

evening people,

now iv got my HID's from HIDs4us and the 1st box the ballast unit didnt work, got intouch with them and they send a new ballast unit out with replacement bulbs too. good chaps they are.....

went to fit the unit today and still no power in the ballast unit! now the unit i had in the 1st box i conected up to both sides and it worked fine, done the same with the unit i recived today and nothing what so ever!

has any one else from here had this problem with items from hid's4us ?

im trying not to make a big issue with this but all i want is what i paid for to work and get some better lighting on the veccy.

weird, im having an issue with a kit from hids direct now, worked fine last sunday and monday after fitting now the the passenger side lights intermittantly, not tried swapping them about.

This the same side as you bud?

im getting nothing what so ever from one ballast unit, the first one was a damaged resistor or some thing, but the second unit im getting nothing on either side . now im not getting any replies from the online sales helpline. all i want is what i buy to work.

Tell me about it, Its such a hassle when it don't work. Phone em up see if you can get a real person to pick up lol. Mine was working this morning no hassle. Hids are one of the best mods but they are such a pita

Definatly, if the companies were to use decent stuff it would make a big difference.

I've given up on the aftermarket crap and i'm gonna retro fit genuine ones

Yeah, I hear that!! shame really they are awesome an people seem to have no problems but why do some of us just have no luck! the cars should be practically the same!!

Have you tried on another 12 volt supply? ie, flying leads directly to the battery, or on another car?

Are you 100% sure the wiring is connected up the right way around?


EDIT - if you're having trouble getting hold of anyone at hids4us, then try contacting "a803sgo" on astraownersnetwork - who I believe is connected with them

yes i have connected the right way around, i even sourced the power wires before hook up. i tried both ballasts units and only the 1st one works. and i just tried the battery plan too, no luck.

i will try that chap from AOC and see if he can point me in some direction, thanks for help.

Just turned mine on tonight and drivers side (yeah would be!!!) doesnt work!! Anyone know what the lifespan of these HID bulbs are? Only been fitted 7 weeks ago,.. been great up to now. Got from HIDS-4-US .. phoning tomorrow to get two spare bulbs just in case as I aint keen on piddling about taking bumpers n headlights off when I've no spares.

(anyone else had this problem where it just stops working?)

Yeah only had mine in from sunday and had a whole day of the drivers side not working, but today it seems ok, I think its something to do with when they fire up, mines flashed and never brightens
