    Default problem

    hi guys just had a camshaft sensor fitted today to my 07reg 120 vectra cdti still aint put the light shaped as a car with a spanner through it out . the computer still says camshaft sensor fault is there any thing else to check for as i am pretty stuck now

    Check the wiring.

    Do you have anything that will read live data to see if its working properly or not.

    no i havent as just came from the garage that fitted the new sensor

    Their code reader may have read the code wrong too

    They should either fit a new one or refund the monies and requote for corrective work

    If the EMS warning light is on, is the engine in safe mode?
    Normal recommendation when replacing the camshaft sensor is to also replace the crankshaft sensor as they both have about the same lifespan and depend on each other

    hi guys went to my m8s garage and done some tests today ,cam sensor and crank sensor we checked the wave pattern wich seemed ok but went toataly out of sink when it was getting cranked over so looking like the dual mass flywheel is broken as after turning it over for a while the wave pattern catches its self back up then it fires up dose this sound right if so how much will it cost to have this replaced with a clutch and DMF?

    before you go into fitting flywheel's do you have trouble starting it with man light on on that year the bottom crank sprocket breaks meaning the woodruff key breaks off and moving timing slightly the only way to check is to remove cam belt and sprocket bolt is left hand thread done quite a few on that year .

    hi guys it was the woodruff key snapped also hadnot had the revised bottom pully fitted all done at a cost of £306.71 inc vat now all sorted with new cambelt kit, pully ,key and any up dates on computer done ,would recomend tony simpson in darlington to anyone realy knows his stuff and a realy nice guy also has tec 2
