    Default Boot Opening

If I leave my boot lid closed for a period of time I have to press the "boot" button on the doors before I can open it. This is annoying and I wondered if there was a way of setting it so I did not have to do this everytime ?

    Thanks

Yes mine is the same, its ****** frustrating, sometimes i close the boot, dont lock the car and when i go back minutes later it wont open without pressing the boot button on the door or by using the keyfob. It drives me mad sometimes, if the doors are open the boot should be!

Used to annoy me too, but now its second nature to hit the boot unlock button on the door or fob.

    Mine doesn't suffer this
If I open the boot, then close it, then insert the ignition key it remains open UNTIL I start the engine

Equally, if I switch the engine off, press the boot open button, it will remain open UNTIL either I open it OR start the engine

If the engine is running throughout, then it operates on a timer
I believe the limit is about 90 seconds
    After that, the boot locks

It's quite similar to the auto-lock
Get out of the car, but forget to lock the car, it should auto-lock after that same amount of time

Actually, if the ignition isn't on it locks again after about 15 mins. This can be seen as the number plate lights go out too.

I have sat in the car for well in excess of 30 minutes and there was no need to press the button again
Equally, someone came across and wondered why the numberplate lights only were on

Equally, when sat in the car for such a long time, I had concerns over someone seeing the lights on and opening the boot
I therefore tend to get out, lock the car, then unlock and get back in
Very inconvenient, that pressing it twice does not lock it again!
