Default CDTi 150 with 90k - wise buy?

Good for many miles yet or a ticking time bomb?

I've spotted a nice CDTi 150 with 90k on it. It's on a '06' plate and has just about everything I'm looking for.

Is it a foregone conclusion that it'll need a DMF soonish? Big money repairs?

Also, does anyone know how easy/expensive it is to change the all chrome/silver headlights that you get fitted to the 'C's with the better looking black versions?

    Thanks.

    Vehicle : shatch- sports hatch

    Trim : cheap plastics

    Engine : metal

    Mileage : 999

Andy,Inlet manifold needs replacing if the swirl bar is off, cambelt is due if not done already, egr valve will also need doing if not already replaced, alternator might go pop if it hasn't already.
DMF should be ok if there are no strange noises when the clutch pedal is half way up.
    Apart from that,i love mine
Sri headlights are roughly £100 plus vat each trade club at the dealers

Buy a 3.0CDTi then and enjoy power and enormous bills when they go wrong

    Who me

A bloke at work has a vectra cdti 120,and i was surprised how well it went to be honest,i thought i'd walk past it,i thought wrong
But i still like the idea of having the 150 bhp to start with and making that quicker, than buying a 120 bhp and only bringing it up to just above the power of a standard 150 bhp after spending money making it go better, but thats just me.
I bought the vectra b 2.2 dti because i didn't want to spend money on the 2.0 dti trying to make it as quick as the standard 2.2 dti

I was tempted, but i didn't like the idea of only having 180bhp without wiping out the fuel pump trying to get more.
Thats why i went for the 1.9 150 bhp,as i heard/read you can get 200 bhp with the right mods.
