Default vectra c sri estate never again

had our 08 sri cdti 40.00 miles stunning in black with tinted windows for a little over a month now and its pants! appaling service from Arnold Clark stirling (toyota).A sri spec with nothing in it, not even air con, basic radio cd30 and a £530 to upgrade with mp3.Rides so hard the cd player jumps. Steering vibrates at 70ish after numerous tries to remedy it, seems to be common fault, lights are so bad takes the wifes car if its dark. mpg is pants went 500 yards and the distance to empty dropped by 8 miles, different setting change gear and goes back to 999 miles pain in the ass. had my dog in boot and he fell through both of the storge bins, driver mirror won't adjust up or down. and the gear knob fell of. all this in one month christ what will it be in 6 months.

for sale one bag of ****

LoL, welcome to Vec-c fellow Livingstonion.

Surprised it didnt come with AC, my LS came with it, id have expected an SRi to definatly have it. Have you had the wheels balanced to try to stop the vibrations?

It should have air con infact it will.. or has the button to the top left of the fan speed controller blanked off? It should have a snowflake symbol on it.

    hi mate

sorry about the rant, Arnold clark did them twice, still wasn't happy they got woods at west calder to look at it they did the tracking and balancing still the same

this is what happens when your service book has not arrived the service desk told me the snowflake is somekind of traction contol for winter driving

while your their guys starting is not as quick as it should be seems to take a full engine cycle to start, is this the norm

All vecs have ac. The wheels need setting up on "fine" or one may have taken a hit. The sri has a soft ride against its rivals so there must something wrong.

    Bets there's a knackered shock.

    A/C was standard equipment AFAIK.

Range depends on how the car is driven. You will regain that lost 8 miles on the open road.

The headlights are crap. Upgrade to some HID's and you'll notice the difference.

CD30 is standard equipment, whoever bought the car new never ticked the box for the cd30 mp3. Could get an aftermarket stereo which would have aux in for your mp3 player and the connex box to work the steering controls, or you can source a cd30 mp3 on ebay for a quarter the price quoted.

The mirror on the drivers wing? Take it back to AC to get that fixed.

The dog is your problem though.

LoL, if you dont have a manual this may help you.

If it went to woods Id have expected them to check the suspension, arb bushes etc. I take it there is no vibration through the brakes, or the floor, just through the steering wheel?

and believing the service desk was your first mistake

sorry to hear of your woes and not being happy with the ride on your SRI estate = as said it will have AC and the headlights are a common issue across the whole VX range so most people retrofit HIDS

the display your viewing no doubt would be the live display on MPG which will change every second your driving whereas the average setting will "even out" those figures ... the distance to empty indicator can also change dependent on how heavy your right foot is and the location of driving (urban will reduce the distance - then if you drove on a motorway the mileage could indeed increase again) as this is still all calculated on the current return of the MPG

the balancing issue ...well I'm surprised that a VX garage cannot get it right ...one of the few places that should have a proper balancing machine for 5 stud tires - can i suggest that maybe one of the alloys is either damaged or out of balance causing the issue ....

the mileage is above average for its age was it an ex demonstrator or maybe an ex lease or fleet car ?

seems a shame as most people are exceedingly happy with theirs

are you looking for another vectra estate ....or has the experience been soured by the one your currently in

0-Large smile ......every time it's driven

Im sorry I cant just stand back and watch you tear strips of Arnold Clark
They are a fantastic service provider and always give true, honest advice.
I cant even say that they have ever had to sort a problem for me, as i have never had one single issue, ever.

Infact, I recently wrote to my local councellor praising the efforts and dedication from my local Arnold Clark garage.

I have never experienced better service!

    yours

    A Clark

My first car was an M reg Cavilier in 1999. It was MOTd that morning when i collected it.
Master fit Dalgety Bay were doing a free Winter health check the next day so I took my car down.

33 faults were discovered including yet not limited too:
No, NO brake fluid in the car
Anti roll bar pin was burst on passenger side
    Discs at less than 20%
    PETROL leak
    NO REVERSE LIGHTS
    Extremely fraid hand brake cable

If thats what passes as an MOT in Clark land then thank you no!

Sorry your having issues buddy and hope you get it all sorted
