New EGR valve fitted !!

just got the car back from vauxhall after having a new egr valve fitted.

what a differnece!! the car pulls from 1500rpm and is nice and smooth now.

even though i thought i had really cleaned the old one its obvious that the new one has made the car so much smoother.

just go tthe vaccum pipe to replace now and prehaps i might attempt to clean the throttle body too.

just one thing though, my mate 54 plate prefacelift vectra has an engine cover with a piece of soundproofing on the back of it, should my 06 plate have the same piece or not?

If it's a 1.9d you've got then there have been a couple of design improvement changes to the original EGR valve since 2004 model year. I replaced mine and found the driveability improved vs cleaning the old valve.

Vx also released an ECU update regarding the EGR valve too.

Hi just wondered what Vaxhaull charged you to fit the EGR valve, I think mines needs done but I see the valve itself is about 200 quid just wondered what vauxhall charge for labour? hope you dont mind me asking, I just wanted to be forwarned before I call them up & ask......

changing the egr valve is simplest job i've ever done on any car. literally a 5 minute job a child of 5yr could do.
oem valves for sale on ebay around £90 last time i looked.
cleaning as the how2 didn't help my egr last year either - got a new and all was perfect again.

Thanks mine is a 2003 2.0 dti so they are all coming in at about 190-250 some from Gemany & some from Latvia... are the cheapest, havent tried vauxhall yet.....
