Do you think I will get anywhere with Vauxhall if I make a complaint
the car is a facelift 2005

Having had 9 Vauxhallís ranging from Astra, cavalier , and 4 vectra and 18 years of trouble free motoring. I was very happy with Vauxhall. And I save for 3 years to buy myself 3 year old vectra SRI CDTi 150 with just 13000 miles on the clock. with full main dealer history I purchased the car in 22/09/2008 from downside motor company of wells road chill Compton. the service I got from them was fantastic I drove away from there dealership very happy I had the car I wonted for a long time after one year I took the car back to the dealer for its service and MOT that was at 22000 miles and with in 7000 miles had a noise coming from underneath the bonnet like a tapping took it to the my local dealer which is in taunton and was told it had to have a new clutch and flywheel at a cost of £1400 that was this year 22/04/2010 and now 9 months later I have a another fault with the inlet manifold and could cost of £900 what with that and the £1400 in less then 3 years I just donít any faith in Vauxhall at all the next time I change my car I will not be buying Vauxhall again.

If you tend to 'praise' the car they do listen to you so I think you are on the right lines. I had the complaint with a squeaky drivers seat. I tactfully complained and they asked me to book it into the dealer and they would monitor the fault. Problem is they don't actually do anything. They had me running round and phoning me asking if I had done x,y and z.

But at 33,000 miles I think that's disgusting. Wondering how Vauxhall will cope with this 'lifetime' warranty should anyone hold onto their cars.

Good luck - I'm in almost exactly the same situation (36,000 miles, '55 plate) and they have given me the brush off.

I'm very tempted to contact Watchdog or similar tbh

Send an email to VX Customer services mate. Was told when i had a fault with the CIM in my car that VX would not pay anything towards it.

Sent them an email with all the facts, had a note to acknowledge the email the next day. 2 weeks later i was fully refunded the cost of the CIM replacement.

Be patient, be cool, be polite and keep to the facts and dont elaborate.. If they are being stubbon about a full refund, see if they will at least go 1/2.

If they won't pay anything towards it why not take it to a local specialist to have the work done? Save you money
