    Default coolant level

is it normal after doing a coolant change or when you do that like changing stat that when you refill the coolant and it all up to the right level, but when you check after the engine is cold its about 1inch below max is that normal?

It could have been an air lock somewhere and running the engine it has removed the air lock, thus now the fluid level has dropped.

When I had the cam belt and water pump replaced and when I replaced the thermostat I had the same both times. Just top it up and keep an eye on it for a few days, I'm sure you'll find it's all ok...

Yup perfectly normal, may take a couple of days to settle down as all the air bleeds out the system.
