    Unhappy Interior Light issue

    HI guys,

    I am confused ...
Changed my interior lights yesterday with some little LED's I actually purchased on my previous car but never used (due to a annoying bulb failure message)

Put them in the front interior lights and they work perfect.
Since I liked the much lighter and blue-ish light, I bought 2 other LEDS today and wanted to fit them in the double rear interior light.

So took the light out, plugged in the first of the 2 LEDs -

When I switched it on to test, it didnt work, but at the same time the front went realy weak and the other rear came on ?!?!?!?!?!
The I noticed that when I switched the right light on and off ( the one with the LED fitted) I could actually switch the left and the front on and off!!!!!
So I was confused and thought I put the standard one back in - now this doesnt work either

    Any idea whats happening?

As I said, the left works now fine again and so does the front after I removed the LED in the rear (front ones still working fine) but the rear right is not doing anything.

Yes, I have tried the bulb both ways as I know they wont work if incorreclty poled ...

    Please help .....

Had the same problem m8, put all the std bulbs back in the front, take the rear light out and unclip it from the clear light surround, pinch the contacts together to make sure they are all connecting wi the bulb contacts. put bulbs back in, plug in and try again, i found it was just loose connections that stopped mine working. Have read that all leds dont work but a combo of the leds and std bulbs does? I left all leds out in the end as i had constant strobing, while car was locked or driving!
Hope this helps and you get it sorted m8, its ****** annoying!

    Dude,

    Thanks for ur reply.
What could be the reason for it not to work now?

The LEDs in the front work perfectly. The issue I have is, only the drivers side rear light isn't working. Not with the standard bulb (which did work before I put the led in) nor with all the replacement standard bulbs I tried.
The passenger side courtesy rear light works fine ...

Could it be that there is a fuse for left and right interior lights???

All the lights are on the same Circuit. Be careful with the cheap LED's off ebay. Mate with a corsa fitted them and it blew the control module. It think with programing it cost over £250 to replace!!!!

    Well, bought them from Halfords.

I cant imagine that anything has blown as all the other lights work fine.
If anything would be blown, both of the rear interior lights wouldnt work - I assume!

But the left hand one is working fine ....

the test might me a good point. Although I got some little sparks when I fiddle with the original bulb in it ....
Just wondering if I have melted the + and - together somehow?
But thats unlikely with a love voltage LED ...

I am just such a perfectionist and the thought that I have only one rear interior light drives me nuttttttttttttttttttttts
Specially since I only have the car since Friday and its my first Vauxhall but I already love so many things on it .....

Same as i had, sparks etc, again check the bulb holders are tight and making contact with the bulb, also check the small metal strip that pushes against the bulb when its in. it may be pushing the bulb out of holder slightly, i had to fiddle with that aswell.

I've recently gone all leds on the interior. My original plan was x2 24led panels in the front and led 501's in the rear but that caused two problems, front was way too bright for my liking and one of the rears would flicker and stay on dimly. My solution was to have just one panel in the front and split the other one in half for the rear, I put the 501's in the number plate lights. I noticed that parts of the contacts for the bulb, in the rear int light, are quite close so try pulling them apart a bit and check if they are touching. Its also possible the contact has been bent a little so try slowly putting in a bulb that you know works while the light is pluged in and on. You can clip the grey part out from the clear lense part for a closer look.
The light from one 24led panel is plenty, heres a night shot
