Default Winter roads and a white car.....

    Hi all,

Is it me or are the roads worse than ever?

I try and keep my car spotless as detailing is in my blood and have yet again spent 2 hours cleaning my pride and joy

Having a white car does make you realise just how much crap, tar, and general dirt sticks to your car when you rub your fingers over the paint it's like fine grit all over. Tiny little specs of black tar or whatever the hell it is

Last weekend I went over the whole car with a soft cloth and WD40 dissolving all the little marks and the car looked mint

Well I have just cleaned the car again and low and behold its covered in little tar spots again I dread to think how much muck is stuck to darker coloured cars thats not noticed!

At least with a white car you can see it and keep on top of it. Roll on spring with the dry and cleaner roads

On a mission to keep it clean.....

    Jon

TBH I found my white cars easy to keep clean, or maybe that's because I used to wash mine daily back then, lol.

They are easy to keep "properly" clean as you can see every little bit of dirt and if your a clean freak like me then its a blessing but it does increase your workload somewhat!

I'm just amazed how much crud has stuck to my car in a week

oh well.... all to do again next week I suppose

Your'e right about the crud on our roads. I washed and dried my white insignia last week and I couldn't believe the amount of tar spots around the car especially on the boot lid. I got tar and bug remover from a friend who valets cars at my local VX dealer. You wiped this stuff on then you could see the tar dots increase in size and then start running down the olympic white paint. I dried it down, then I clayed the bootlid with meguiars and then polished the bootlid with meguiars ultimate car polish.
The difference in the finish of the paint after detarring, claying and waxing was unbelievable.
This is the first time I have clayed and the difference is magic.
I will just have to go over the whole car now and it will look stunning.
