    Hey peeps,

Do you think £80 is average for labour to fit front pads and discs and do an oil change??

The lad i usually use charges me £30 to change the disks and pads. The garage wanted £50 to change the fronts. and for an oil change its £15 i supply all the parts.

I was quoted £80 only last week for fitting rear discs and pads with me supplying... So i would say thats not a bad price which you have been quoted.

This is my bro in law thats quoted this doing it in his garage. I was a bit man thats high because kwick fit do an oil change for £49 including the oil, plus my local vx only charge £35+ vat for an hours labour.
So going by that it would cost £91, might ask him wheres my family discount. shock really as he fitted my springs for a pint (but I gave him £30 aswell as a good will gesture).

i guess it's about the going rate, very expensive these days. and you get hit by 20% vat at the end, this is where the vat rise will affect a lot of people most - car maintenance.
