    Default Inlet manifold and thermostat

After roughly 30,000 miles with my swirl bar off, I think it's time I replaced the inlet manifold, and while that's being done I thought I'd replace the thermostat aswell, which has struggled to rise above 70 degrees since I've had the car. So if anybody could point me in the right direction as to where the best place to get these parts from (ebay etc) it would be appreciated. My car is a 55 plate preface 1.9 cdti sri150 auto. Thx. Col.

i would give Autovaux a phone. They quoted me £36.13+VAT + £3.68 delivery for the thermostat. The manifold I think you'll pay about £150ish.

Thx mate, It's only recently I've noticed the smell of exhaust gases in the car, when idling for any length of time. The heater works ok but probably be better with the new themostat. I was going to sell the car and get a newer one, but decided to keep it and spend a few quid on upgrades.

Just searched for the link to the post where it was £165 but the link is now dead as it was on special offer so looks like Ebay is the way to go.

Ok cheers, I've got a mate who's a very good mechanic, but he said he hasn't done one of these before. Are there any problems when fitting the manifold that I can warn him about?

its not that bad ofa job to do just a lot of bits to take off and unless youve go the bolts to bolt the fuel pump pulley to the timing plate so you can remove the pump from the pulley you wil have to remove the cambelt. im trying to decide if to do it myself or pay the senior tech at the vaux garage where im training to do it lol
