    Default Firmware update, help needed

Went to Lookers today to get the firmware update for my CD70 (pre 2007) and they told me that the only disc they have is £200 and it updates the maps. I then told the guy I didn't want the latest map CD but just the firmware that updates the actual software within the CD70 and he told me he didn't know what I was talking about.

I've read all over this forum about people going to the dealers and getting this disc for around a fiver. Am I going to the wrong place? Should I be going to Vauxhall direct?

Could some one shed any light on this for me e.g. Could someone tell me the exact name or part number for the CD please.

If not has anyone got one I could buy, thanks.

    Ste.

You should be able to order the firmware update CD from any Vauxhall main dealers.

Although the fact that someone employed at a Vauxhall main dealers has on idea of what you're talking about somehow does not surprise me.

Yeah me neither, I want the update CD that adds AUX-in setting. Might give Vauxhall a ring or wait to see if anyone has a spare.

It's proper doing my nut it.

The part number is 13294646 Should cost about £5.75.

Surely they have a search facility on their database which with a simple search for something like CD70 Firmware, Update, CD etc would bring up the part number.

Anyway, the number above should get you sorted mate.

Your a star mate!! I'll go back today and give 'em that number. I did ask him to search and he double checked, you know what they're like though, seems they just can't be bothered with you half the time.

P.S. Is that the part number for the CD that includes AUX-in?

It is indeed. I'm told it's a shade over £100.

£200 for a map update disc? Another quality example of Lookers' Quality Service. I stopped using that cowboy outfit 3 years ago, and now use a small VX dealer in Formby called Duerdens, who are everything Lookers should be.

Nice one mate have you got any contact details or do they have a website at all?? What have you bought from them if you don't mind me asking. Do they sell genuine VX parts?

    www.duerdens.com 01704 831111

The Formby dealer is part of a small group with another (larger) Duerdens in Southport and a few others in Lancashire.

Don't really buy parts from them, as they do all the jobs on my car (XP diesel like yours, but manual), as I'm cack-handed and know nothing about cars LOL. They use/sell genuine VX parts.

Checked with lookers and they told me that that part number is for a software update dated the 10/2006 to 10/2007 for £7. Would that be the right one do you think?
