Default Hybrid Turbo spec for 1.9CDTI

Well I have the tubro back after it was repaired and I will be fitting it this week, once I get a brand new oil feed pipe for the turbo.

The compressor is up from 49mm to a 52mm exducer with a 39mm inducer. The shaft and bearing is also uprated, so I look forward to trying again!

They have made it but the first fitting didn't go well, some particulate contamination of un known source or type... Possibly in my oil they tell me...

Anyway, rebuilt at no cost, so I will try again after Tuesday when I get the new pipe.

If you are interested, I think they want 650 quid for an exchange unit. I got one off ebay for 110 quid and used that for the upgrade. Let Turbo Technics know if you are interested, as it took me over three years to get them to make one!

Let us know how it goes and feels and if there is any increase in boost pressure too. Also a rolling road should be handy too les us know some figures

Well it was holding solid at 1.7bar before it died last time and that was before I turned the boost up. I will be doing a rolling road in two weeks in Leeds with 29 other diesel, so I hope to have everything up and running well by then.

As they haven't established the 'source' of the contamination what happens if it does the same? Seems a lot of fettling at your end to get it to work out.

I have 10 ltr of oil, new feed pipe, new oil filter and a new turbo. I will ditch the oil while hit, refill and run until hot again then ditch that lot, then I will refill and change the oil filter. New, remove old turbo, fit new feed pipe, stick it together and hope the problem does not reoccur... Nothing much more I can do.
