Chirping noise CDTI please help

There are various threads about people with what sounds like budgies under their bonnets I too seem to have this problem. Although mine is constant & drives me up the wall.

I have asked vauxhall to listen to it to see if it is belt tensioner & each time they say they cant hear the noise?

I have car going in for a service tomorrow so if I can give them a definate idea of what to change it may solve the problem.

Hard to see/hear if yours makes same noise as mine, mine will make small 'chirping' sounds when ticking over, does not happen all the time. I need to get aux belt and bits checked. I have read about a clutch on the alternator that could also be the cause?

You have warning lights up on dash after starting .... Had them checked or know what's causing them, might play a part?

That comes on for about 5 minutes every time I start up the car. I believe it is glowplugs. The chirping was definately there before that light started playing up

What about the cam belt, have you had done or is it due?

Had mine done way before the vx 100,000 point .... The rollers were in an awful state and breaking down.

Mines also has a metallic rattle, comes and goes when starting and been doing for about 3 years ..... Can't explain or find it.

Timing belt was done less than 12 months ago, it's enough to drive you insane lol

Just a quick update guys, had the belt changed today & guess what .... noise gone!

mines got a chirping noise aswell when i start it up so better change the cambelt asap lol ive got a new cambelt kit and water pump sitting next to me atm just need to fit it :/
