    Default tyres

well i had a squeaking comming from the brakes so today i stripped them down only to find the inside edge of both front tyres are down to steel cord
it looks like they have been rubbing on the inner arch for the last year since i lowered the car,
the tyres are 215/50/17 would going down to a 215/45/17 help any or have a negative effect on the car.
also where is a good place to get tyres as my rear has a nail in it so may as well replace all 4 rather than just 3

I'd go for a local tyre shop you can talk to about what you want. The drop in profile may help a little but depending on how much it rubs, might not be enough. Have you considered stretching a 205/45/17 tyre onto it?

Sounds like you need to get the alignment sorted correctly first (if you haven't already)

the car is on this kit from LMF
    springs
it did say for v6 but does look very low.

i am now thinking that it might not have been rubbing but might infact just be tracking because the line on the arch i thought it had been ribbing against is all the way arround the arch and there is no way the tyre can touch the front and back so it must just be a line of dirty water thrown out by the tyre.
so now all i need to do is replace the tyres and get a wheel alinment.

anyone know a good place for cheap tyres

Did you not get the geometry set up when you had it lowered?

Make sure you get this done at the same time as new tyres, it's always easier with the new tyres on.
As for tyres if you're wanting to drop a profile then 225/45/17 is the Vx approved size as apposed to 215/50... just buy the best tyres your budget will allow

is it safe to go wider, i assumed going a lower profile would be ok but dont understand how a wider tyre will fit my wheel.
i did hear that 215/50 was a odd size and that bumps the price up so if 225/45 fits it works for me.

225/45 is the alternative as recommended by Vx mate, my old preface was lowered & i ran 225/45's with no bother at all
