I did a static DPF regeneration today and thought I'd look at the engine and I saw this:

the #4 injector is soked wet. What is causing this and what can I do to fix it?
thanks

If its coming from the top of the injector then it'll most probably be the plastic leak off pipe. Clean around the area and start the engine and see if its coming from that. If its that you'll need a new 'leak off pipe' assembly which is about £30 or so i think. Easy enough to change.
If it was the injector itself i would expect not to see diesel all over the top of the injector.

A diagnostic tool gave me these readings of the fuel injection:
Attachment 25392
what do these mean???
also I've seen tiny drops of fuel that seem to be coming out of the electric plug and splashing towards the injector and there are also tiny amounts that splash from the top of the injector, where the hose is connected with a clip.
How bad is this? do I need to change the whole injector? help please!!!
thanks for the reply plasma, it's from the top and from the electric plug towards the injector. I don't understand how can it come from the electric plug?! what's the role of the plastic leak off pipe? do I need to get only the piece in between the 3rd and 4th injector or should I replace it for all the injectors?
how did you do a static regen ?? it looks like injector 4 is leaking i would say via the plug or pipe ....
with an op-com. I will clean it tomorrow and see exactly where it's leaking
does op com give you the warnings tech 2 does ....? ....... did you check the oil life remaining ? or dont opcom give ya this info ? ...........
i think it does, didn't check for the oil life remaining but I can get the next service interval in km by pressing and holding the button on the spedometer... it sais something like 18000 Km. why do you ask?
it got nowt todo with when it is next due a service it is a reading in the ecu of how good the oil is you cant do 2 regens on top of one another you have todo about 50 miles between ....if the oil life is low ie it has been contaminated with deisel from doing or atempting a regen it has been known to wreck a few engines they can over heat and die .... i wouldnt do a another regen soon and if ya do might be a good idea to change the oil if you aint done it for a while .......
benny, how does the oil get contaminated with diesel via a regen?
