Default Going on holiday - but where???

Me, Mrs JCB and mini-digger are looking at going away in beginning Nov...but we aren't sure where to go.

Initially we were going to catch a bit of son in the Canaries, but a 4hr flight with little mr doesn't sound great this year.

So then me thinks - somewhere cold?! Anyone been to Cologne, or Sth. Germany, Bervaria etc. anywhere is Swiss or any other suggestions.

Cheers guys - p.s. already done Budapest so somewhere other than ta....!

Geneva is a good destination and in the Autumn still good weather for sightseeing plus Chamonix (nice place) is only an hour down the road, or a train to Montreaux. Queasyjet give cheap flights but check BA prices as frequently cheaper and much more comfortable.

Cologne is not bad and is commendably close to the Nurburgring..............

Send a PM if you need more (biased) info on Switzerland, I lived there for 4 years.

If it's cities you want, I'd always recommend Bruges in Belgium. It's usually cold in winter, and a lovely place.
As you've got a little 'un, how about Center Parcs? They've got 'em on the continent, or you could stay in this country.

What about somewhere like Croatia. Settled down after their problems a few years ago, excellent prices and culture.
I would not recommend Bulgaria as my daughter went last year and came back with salmonella

I went to Poland once and came back with Mertal, Ginstka, Yatvi, and Franki - all very nice chaps, paid in cash too!!!

South of France is an option - thought about staying in Nice, then getting the train along the cost into Monaco for a day trip...
