Default Taken to the cleaners ?

    Hi,

A local (non-GM) repair place has just replaced both the window regulator and the motor unit on my Signum.

The regulator had just parted company at the 4 spot welds (fairly common I'm reading).

They said the whole thing was one assembly and had to be replaced as one.

After paying, I asked for the old parts, 'cos the motor might be usefull to me, and was handed the broken regulator, and the motor unit seperately.

A quick search on parts suppliers on the web reveals that the motor unit is available as a separate item, priced at around £120 - but the garage has charged me £184 + VAT (£220) for the motor !!! Total bill was

I'm also reading on here that people have replaced their regulators only....

I think I've been done - they have replaced a part that didn't need replacing..and seem to have made a hefty mark-up on it to boot !..

What do you guys think ?

Thats sounds like an admission of guilt, they knew you had rumbled them trying to make a quick buck. Well done.
