Finally did this today, as my engine has run a bit cool for some time now.
Huge difference. Temperature shoots up to 87C and stays there - seems a bit high to me, wonder if it's been fitted right. Does that sound about right?
cheers.

Yup, did mine last week and now sits at about 86/87 degrees. And slightly better mpg since
Just done mine the other day running at about 85ish, Nice in there on the way to work at 4 in the morning now.
Is it me or have a lot of them failed in the cold? Mine needs doing as well and the threads seem pretty active .... A mix across the range.
Mines running cold and it's only going to affect mpg, shame it's just had a full coolant flush when the manifold was done lol, anybody got the part no and how much is it, cheers
Not sure about mine. Takes a while to warm up but gets to 75-80 but drops to bottom of the gauge when going downhill.
might be, but it's much more noticeable when there's a problem with it during cold weather.
just been out for a long test, it gets up to 87c and it looks like that's the optimum temperature. hardly moves from there at all whether on the motorway or in traffic. mpg is clearly better now
don't think this thermostat has ever been right until now for the 4 years i've owned the car
mine getting done under warranty tommorrow
got mine of the bay for £38 quid is delivered
