I've a 2002 2.0 DTI vectra, and was thinking of getting it remapped. But it's got 123,000 miles on the clock. Would a remap be a bad choice? Would it likely do more bad than good?

If it's been serviced well why let mileage bother you... i had an old vec b remapped @ 110k ran it to 130k with no bother & a lad in the north east is still running around in it now, it's been out of my hands for 5 years
i've heard of these engines doing 400k i wouldn't let 123k bother you its only just over half what the engine can do without giving any issues
yip as said if its been well serviced then go for it i hear the diff is like night and day after its been maped
iv got 110k on my clock and im getting mine done next week and getting my dpf taken off as its blocked i think lol.............good way to get a remap tho if it ent blocked
Blimy, mines only got 80k I thought that might have been high
Is it only auto's that have a DPF ?
Regardless of the mileage, if it is in good health it will be fine.
If you are worried, do a cylinder leakage test etc and try to determind the wear etc....
estates, signums and auto's have dpf's none other do
See Here
Page 7 i think it is
