Default Changing frm CCR2006 to aftermarket kenwood dvd player

    Hey guys,

Id like to ask for a bit of help, Ive had a search on the forum and ive came across this thread.

    http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showth...ging+head+unit

Basically what Im wanting to do is change my standard headunit (CCR2006) to an aftermarket dvd player, namely a kenwood one.

Would anyone be able to tell me what items I would need in order to keep everything else in working order?

    Thanks very much in advance

    Mo

You will need a vectra fascia plate, a cage, ariel connector, iso connector block cable, and steering wheel adaptor if you want the steering controls to work. some shops do offer double din fitting kits for £50 which gives you the cage, fascia plate, iso connector block and aireal connector. then all you would need to buy separate is the steering wheel cable. It is the better option if you can get a double din fitting kit as it will work out alot cheaper. A place near me called 'in car emporium' sells them £50, google them, I think they do a postal service. hope this helps mate.

Ive removed the radio connector from the dvd player. It wouldn't fit in my previous car and I barely listen to the radio so wasn't too bothered ha! I can get the fascia plate for £6 from a local shop. is the cage and iso block really that expensive

I had a glance at the option of fitting an aux input into the standard head unit, would this be possible with my head unit mate?

I took mine out, removed the cover and front plate, then put a normal cassette adaptor into the tape deck. I threaded the lead through the insides of the unit, then put the front and cover back on, with the lead hanging out the back. Then I put it through a hole I drilled in the coin tray below, so the 3.5mm jack plug hangs out.

Now I just plug my ipod in, select Tape and Bobs yer uncle...
